Easy like a Springy Sunday

Absolutely love that the weather is getting a little warmer here in New York, even though we’re expecting some early “April Showers” over the next few days!

I have this sweater in the black and the cream, and it’s definitely the perfect addition to your wardrobe for spring.  It can be paired with destroyed denim, a flowy patterned skirt, or your favorite cut offs.  Also, can’t get enough of these frayed cropped jeans from Forever 21! They have a little stretch to them, and hugs all your curves! These are so perfect for spring and summer, and are definitely a conversation starter!

Sunday Oyster Roastin’

A fun, fall weekend activity in Charleston, SC consists of oyster shuckin’, live music and romantic views.  While visiting my mom this past weekend, I experienced my first ever Oyster Roast, and what an amazing experience it was!  Unlimited, steamy oysters, which you shuck yourself, gloves and shucking picks are provided along with different toppings.  My favorite is a few dashes of hot sauce on a saltine cracker — Delish!

When I’m visiting my mom down south, it’s always tough to determine how to dress, especially because the weather varies so much from in New York! This weekend was actually pretty chilly, highs in the low 60’s.

One of my favorite pieces I bought this summer during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, was this BLANKNYC faux leather moto jacket.  Every time I wear this jacket, I get so many compliments because the color is so striking and different from the average black leather jacket.  It always adds a pop of color when your wearing neutral colored pieces.

Jacket: BLANKNYC Faux Leather Moto Jacket in Dark Green

Sweater: H&M Open Shoulder Top

Booties: Steve Madden Melina Bootie

Denim: old; similar: Lulu’s Cool Black Jeans, Topshop Moto Leigh Ripped Jeans, Urban Outfitters BDG Twig Ripped Skinny Jean

A special thanks to my very special friend, Molly Ann Jones, for the photography skills. 🙂

Happy Halloween!

blog-1-v2blog-1-v3blog-1-v8blog1-v4blog-1-v7blog1-v1blog-1-v6

Happy Halloween, to all my readers! This weekend, my friends and I went upstate to New Paltz, NY, to pack in as many “fall” activities you can in a weekend! The weather was absolutely perfect – a perfect crisp fall weekend and unbeatable fall foliage.

We went apple and pumpkin picking at Dubois Farms in Highland, NY before venturing off to some local vineyards.

My first outfit of the weekend was spent for apple and pumpkin picking, and I have to admit I didn’t really pack appropriately when it came to my footwear.  For some reason, I wasn’t thinking we would be walking around in dirt and mud, so I packed my suede block heeled booties; luckily, we didn’t run into too much mud!

Love the casual feel of my outfit, the long-line hooded sweater was purchased last week from, you’ll never guess where… Forever 21… for under $23!! Great find, and the long sweaters are very “in” this season, my wardrobe feels like I time hopped back to middle school with the chokers, long sweaters, flared jeans, etc.

My blockheel suede booties, were also a crazy deal, for ONLY$28 and they’re super comfy! Lulus.com has unbelievable deals on gorgeous boots!

This fall I am SO loving this olive green color for dresses, vests, army jackets, sweaters — it’s so in!

I found this adorable BP woven shirt dress, which is a great transition piece from summer to fall, during the much anticipated Nordstrom Anniversary sale.  I’m so excited to finally make it’s long over due debut on crème! With the weather getting a little cooler this weekend, I would pair this with some tan booties and a leather jacket; perfect solution from day to night dress.

I paired this little number with Steve Madden Lace Up Nude Suede Sandals Heels, which are surprisingly very comfy and I walked all around Soho for this shoot (also shot by photographer and friend, Jason Mize).

A few weeks ago, I did a mini fashion shoot with my friend, Jason Mize, who I mentioned in my last post! This was one of my favorite looks he did and I absolutely love the shot of Wayne and I.

This dress is A-MAZ-ing and the background just makes this photo – gotta love Lower East Side, for their eclectic artwork! I can’t find it on Lulus anymore unfortunately, but it is absolutely gorgeous, with the hand detailed white flowers, mesh netting and love the sexiness of the fit.  I paired the look with my favorite rose gold Dior Reflected sunniessuede pale pink block heels and ‘Saint Germain’ lips.

Love this dress for date night or it’s perfect for a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner!

I cannot believe Summer 2016 has come and gone.  Where did the time go??  Anyone who knows me, knows summer is my favorite season! It’s always sunny, everyone is happy, there’s always something fun going on outside – whether it’s happy hour, dinner on our terrace, long walks in the neighborhood or weekends at the beach!

I think we can all agree that this summers hottest looks and trends included anything white, striped, lace, pale blue and off-the-shoulder.  I think it’s safe to say, I have a thing for the off-the-shoulder look and hope to continue it throughout the fall, it’s just too cute!

Above is one of my favorite summer looks shot by photographer and friend, Jason Mize. Check out his blog here.  He specializes in Weddings, Couples and Lifestyle.  I met Jason, through my friend while he was shooting her magical wedding. He’s truly talented and does amazing work!

Harbor Date Night

Blog 11v1Blog 11v2Blog 11v3Blog 11v4Blog 11v5Blog 11v6Blog 11v7Blog 11v8Blog 11v9

Last night, Wayne and I took a spontaneous road trip for our date night to Harbor Point, Stamford, CT.  When I say this place was magical, it was just picture perfect, so quaint and truly how you would envision Connecticut; clear blue skies, followed by a beautiful sunset, wonderful drinks and seafood, and boats galore!

I chose a long sleeved crochet dress from H&M (old, similar: 1. here 2. here 3. here 4. here) which was perfect since we sat at a waterfront table by the live band at The Crab Shell.   I paired this summery staple with my favorite Catherine Malandrino wedges, Prada sunnies and Brown leather tasseled handbag.

I would highly recommend checking this restaurant out, right on the water, live band, happy hour, delicious selection of fresh seafood and pasta dishes!  Planning to do a few more trips to this adorable town which is a short drive from Manhattan while the weather is still nice, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city!

This summer I just cannot get enough of simple, chic dresses.  I’ve purchased many dresses this season that are so effortless and can be dressed down with a pair of simple sandals or up with pretty, strappy wedges.  This exact dress I cannot find anywhere online; I purchased it in New York & Company store.  Similar style here, loving the black and white!

Also loving these looks too: NY & Co. Yellow Maxi (perfect in a tropical paradise), NY & Co. Tunic (Only $15!) (teal and white are amazing), NY & Co. Off-Shoulder Maxi. All these lovely dresses are on sale at New York & Company!

My new Catherine Malandrino Espadrille Wedge Sandal, found at Nordstrom Rack could quite possibly be the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned! Other similar options: Catherine Malandrino Wedge Marc FisherChloé, and Stuart Weitzman.

My accessories: Dolce & Gabbana Sunnies“Love” RingDiamond PendantRose Gold Cable Bracelet and Pineapple Tumbler (perfect for summer cocktails or juices)!
